How to Contribute to the Florida District Hurricane Relief Efforts

1) To contribute to the restoration of our Unitarian Universalist Congregations and their members, or if you want your contribution to go where there is the greatest need (congregations, members or farm workers), please send your contributions to the following:

Florida District UUA
1901 E. Robinson St. #18
Orlando, FL 32803
On the memo line: “Disaster Relief Fund”

2) To send your contributions to the Farm Worker relief fund only, please send your contributions to the following:

Florida District-UUA
1901 E. Robinson St. #18
Orlando, FL 32803
On the memo line: Disaster Relief Fund-Community)

3) To share your time and energy, please e-mail the District Executive, Mary Higgins at uuafldist@aol.com and let me know the following information:

  • What kind of work are you volunteering to do?
  • How many of you are there?
  • How far are you willing to drive?
  • How long can you stay? We are finding that four hours in this heat, even with sufficient water, is about all a person can take in single day.
  • Do you prefer to work with a congregation or fellow UU, the farm workers, or does it matter to you?
  • What tools are you proficient with? We ask that no one learns to use a chain saw or other power equipment for the first time on our clearing projects!
  • Would you be able and willing to help in the panhandle of Florida in the aftermath of Hurricane Ivan?
  • How can I contact you? Please send both E-mail and phone if you have them.
